Welcome to MAGIC

Welcome to the Katahdin Region of North-Central Maine. We are eager
help provide your business with the resources to succeed.
We believe
that our supply of forest resources, including soft and hardwood
species, is of particular interest to secondary
forest products manufacturers. Still, our location and labor
force provide opportunities for firms to diversify across a
wide range of industries, and our business leaders are ready
to help!
Magic is
a nonprofit tri-community economic development organization,
has
mobilized resources to assist in site selection and has helped
develop specific programs to educate and train the available
work force of the area and assist new as well as existing
businesses.
Located in north-central Maine along the banks of
the Penobscot River, the Katahdin Region is made up of the
communities of Medway, East Millinocket, and Millinocket.
The region
is named
for Mount Katahdin,
Maine's tallest mountain and the northern terminus of the
Appalachian Trail. The region is a major center for papermaking
and forest
products industries and is poised to serve a variety of
businesses and industries.
The quality of life offered in the
Katahdin Region is one of our greatest assets. Though the atmosphere
of the Katahdin
Region offers all the benefits and security found in
rural living, you
are never far from an endless variety of activities.
If you have any questions about the Katahdin Region and what we
have to offer your business, contact Bruce D. McLean by e-mail or
